Johnny O'Connell leaving Corvette Racing.

So after a while of me freaking out because I couldn't figure out what some mysterious Facebook post on Johnny O'Connell's page was about, I've finally got it. Unfortunately it makes me a little sad.

In an interview with BadBoyVettes, Johnny revealed his future plans for all to see.

Turns out that the veteran Corvette Racing driver is set to leave his place behind the wheel of the yellow and black racers for a place behind the wheel of a Cadillac.  Johnny O' has been responsible for a multitude of wins for Corvette Racing including at Sebring and Le Mans. The man is also the only American factory Team Corvette driver.

O'connell is a GM factory driver and in no way confined to driving for only Corvette. With this knowledge, it still comes as a shock that he will be taking the wheel of one of the new Cadillac CTS-V Coupe's. From the looks of it, Cadillac has had their eyes on Mr. O'Connell for quite some time and actually requested him as part of the deal of building a factory Cadillac race car.

Sadly though, Johnny has said to not expect to see too much from his as far as Corvette Racing is concerned, seems that he'll be distancing himself from that in order to concentrate more on the Cadillac racing effort.
